Donald Trump should never have appeared on the ballot last year because he consistently flouted campaign laws. The biggest insult to our democratic process was his refusal to disclose his tax returns to the American people and then bragging about how little money he paid in taxes. That should disqualify him from holding political office even if we didn't already know he owes a ton of money to foreign governments. This cannot happen again.
Thankfully, State Senator Brad Hoylman from the 27th District is working to make sure no one can run for office without disclosing their tax returns again. the TRUMP Act (Tax Returns Uniformly Made Public) would require each candidate to release five years of tax returns a minimum of 50 days before the general election or they will not appear on the ballot.
This is a no brainer. Support this bill. The only thing I don't like about it is Trump loves that they named it after him. They should have come up with an acronym for FUCKFACE or DOUCHENOZZLE (or Nazi). Call your state senator, let them know you want this bill passed ASAP.
There is an online petition you can sign here. Make the call, it takes five minutes. If you don't know what your district is, Google it. Tell your friends. Resist.
