This movie is a sort of classic for people my age. I remember it fondly, like it was just a few years ago rather than how many years since it actually came out. The premise is simple, perennial underachiever Peter Lafleur (Vince Vaughn) has to raise $50,000 in order to save his gym from being bought out by his douchey business neighbor White Goodman (Ben Stiller). As predicted, there is an exceptional amount of testicle and dick humor in the film, such as the slogan of the Dodgeball tourney “Go Balls Deep”. Lefleur and his loser friends enter the tournament only after the Girl Scout troop they lose to is disqualified for steroid use (and a low grade beaver tranquilizer). God damn you Bernice!
The real focus should be on The GloboGym crew, 'cause obviously they're way more dudefest than the scrub Average Joe's team. Unfortunately, Hollywood isn't a huge fan of making a movie about a stacked team entering a tournament and beating everyone, instead they have to do a story about a loser team winning. Yawn.
The Average Joe's somehow manage to win the tournament, thanks to Rip Torn's death. (Which gives them hope?) I guess killing off the handicapped guy on the team was the final push they needed for the finals, which seems strange. But I'm not here to judge. Also this movie is funny, and full of great one-liners. I know that that last sentence is a non-sequiter but I really just want to mention that the most quoted line from the movie (I'm assuming this is the most quoted) is actually a misquote. Everyone always says "It's a bold move, Cotton...". Stop it, idiots. That's wrong. It's "It's a bold strategy, Cotton,...". There you go, you're welcome.
Anyway, in the end, the main chick turns out to be bi-sexual which is the most dudefest a chick can be. Also the kid in high school impregnates the cheerleader, pay attention at the end and you’ll see.
